Oskar Blues Dales Pale Ale

After my story last week about the growing use of canned craft beer, I decided I needed to try some.  Here in Central Florida  canned craft beer is still a rarity. But as luck would have it, as I was wandering down the beer aisle in Publix, I spotted a six pack of canned  Oskar Blues Dale’s Pale Ale. Publix must have just received it as it wasn’t even priced on the beer shelf yet. My first thought was, how the heck did they know I was looking for this? Pure Coincidence? Luck? I think not. I think it was the Beer Gods once again smiling down at me. When the cashier rang up the beer, it was $9.69 for the six pack.  I thought that was a bit on the high side, but then again I hadn’t tasted it yet.

A few hours later, while watching football I decided it was time. I opened up a can and poured it in my glass. The beer was a nice warm golden color with a very rich smooth head. My first sip brought  an explosion of pure hoppiness, er happiness. A nice full lush smooth beer.  This beer went down quicker than the Miami Dolphin defense.  This was my first taste of a beer from Oskar Blues.  On the Beer Living Rating Scale,  I would give this beer a 9. Hopefully I will be able to find some of their other offerings.

I highly recommend this beer. You can find out more about it at Oskar Blues Brewery here
