It has been a busy week in the nations capital and it looks like Yuengling is right in the thick of it. Don’t worry, Beer Living is not becoming a political blog, but I did notice a couple of stories this week that involved Yuengling Beer.
The well known bet between the US President and the Canadian Prime Minister was paid off this week. In case you were boycotting the recent Winter Olympics, President Obama bet Prime Minster Harper that the United States hockey team would beat the Canadian hockey team and win the gold medal. If the Canadians won, President Obama would send a case of Molson beer to the Prime Minister. And if the Americans won, the Prime Minister would send a case of Yuengling to the President. Well, the Canadians won (the game and the bet) and this week the President sent the case of Molson to the Prime Minister. But he also threw in a case of Yuengling as well. Go Yuengling!

The other tidbit of news concerning Yuengling in Washington was this little blurb in the Washington Post. The scene is late Sunday (the day the House voted on the Health Care bill)
…Across the street in the Longworth House Office Building, the halls were mostly empty. Recently emptied pizza boxes sat outside offices of the House Agriculture Committee, and one staffer was seen carrying a six-pack of Yuengling beer toward the office of Rep. Joe Sestak (D-Pa.)…
I’m glad to see an American tradition like Yuengling is helping the politicians do whatever it is that politicians do.
