September 19, 2009 was the opening day of the 176th Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany. Two weeks of beer, food, and fun times. Unfortunately I live 4902 miles (7889 km) from Munich. A “Mass”, one litre (approximately 33 oz) of beer, will cost between 8,30 € ($12.21) and 8,60 € ($12.65) this year.
Over 6 million liters of beer will be consumed this year.
Beer will be sold in the tents from 10.00 AM to 10.30 PM on weekdays and from 9.00 AM to 10.30 PM on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
