While on a recent Beer Patrol, I spotted a beer I had never sampled before. Hook & Ladder Golden Ale. This beer is brewed by the Hook & Ladder Brewing Company which is located in Silver Spring, Maryland. One of the great things about this brewery is that they have established a foundation, The Hook & Ladder Firefighter Burn Foundation. This foundation offers assistance for burned firefighters and other burn victims. Donations are made for every keg or case of beer sold. You can read more about it on their website (link below). This is a great cause and I applaud them for their effort in this area.
Review of Hook & Ladder Golden Ale
Overall I was a bit disappointed in this beer. It is one of those beers where nothing jumps out at you in terms of taste. Don’t get me wrong, it is not a bad beer, I just found it rather bland. It would make a nice lawn mowing beer, but I think it is priced a bit high for that.
